Shopping with a Lifestyle Money Everyday Account provides Kiwi families access to a huge range of products that they can pay off at an affordable rate. Home Direct offers leading household brands, including smartphones, TVs and gaming consoles, furniture and bedding, clothing, footwear, beauty products, toys, and outdoor equipment.

Lifestyle Money's Everyday Account is available for use when shopping at Home Direct. It is designed to make shopping for everyday items easier, by enabling you to control your account and set it up to align with your lifestyle and budget.

Here’s how our Everyday Account works:

Shop online or over the phone with Home Direct whenever you feel like it, or at your home with one of Home Direct’s Customer Representatives.

The application process is quick and you’ll be supported by our friendly and helpful credit team.

You’ll make affordable weekly or fortnightly payments from as low as $10 per week to pay off your purchases. The more you pay off, the more you have available to spend again at Home Direct. The things you buy will be delivered directly to your door. 

Competitive interest rates between 14.5% - 25.5% per annum depending on your risk. Interest rates are not fixed and are subject to change.

No establishment fee and $6 monthly account fee.

Our interest rates range between 14.5% per annum to 25.5% per annum depending on your risk. You will be advised of your interest rate at the time your Everyday Account is approved. Interest rates are not fixed and are subject to change.

Life brings along all kinds of events that can bring financial strain to families. Whether it be unexpected illness, unemployment, or broken relationships, there's a huge range of things that can bring on some additional hardship.

Frequently asked questions

Not at this stage, although it is important to us to offer you greater choices, so this is something we are working on.

You must be at least 18 years old. You also must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and earning or receiving a regular income. 

You’ll need to provide original or certified identity documents. There are three options:


  • New Zealand Passport; or
  • New Zealand certificate of identity; or
  • New Zealand firearms licence; or
  • Foreign passport (New Zealand residents only)


  • New Zealand Birth Certificate; or
  • Certificate of Citizenship; or
  • Birth Certificate issued by a foreign government

Together with one of the following:

  • New Zealand driver’s license; or
  • HANZ 18+ card; or
  • Kiwi Access Card; or
  • Current international driving permit


  • New Zealand driver’s licence

Together with one of the following:

  • Bank statement addressed to you and dated within the last 12 months; or
  • Any New Zealand Government department statement addressed to you and dated within the last 12 months; or
  • Document issued by Government agency that has name and signature, for example New Zealand SuperGold Card or Community Services Card; or
  • Credit/Debit/EFTPOS card with name embossed

To ensure we comply with our legal requirements as a responsible lender, we will also need you to provide:

  • Up to 3 months current bank statements
  • Proof of income you receive or earn from regular sources
  • Overview of your current expenses

The amount you can spend at Home Direct with your Everyday Account will be determined during the application process and is based on your income and expenses and what you can reasonably afford. You’ll be given a limit and from there you can buy items from Home Direct up to that amount.

You can buy any goods from Home Direct using your Everyday Account (provided you have enough credit available).

If you have an Everyday Account, you can spend whatever available credit you have anytime you wish on any items in the Home Direct store. The more you pay off, the more you’ll have available to spend again. If you want to make frequent purchases, the Everyday Account is likely your best option as it enables you to buy when you want (provided you have available credit). 

A Payment Plan is a fixed amount that you pay off over a set period of time. If you want to purchase again it will either be via a new Payment Plan Account or via an Everyday Account. Only selected Home Direct product categories are available to purchase using Payment Plan.

No, Lifestyle Money also offers a Payment Plan for shopping at Home Direct. Home Direct also accepts credit and debit cards.

Yes. We only want you to be approved for an Everyday Account or Payment Plan if it is the right thing for you and your budget.
